I am at my goal weight after vaginally birthing & nursing 5 kids. . I’m 5’2” 126 pounds. I have full bladder prolapse, partial uterus prolapse , partial internal rectum prolapse. I’m wondering if the prolapse will have any affect on my recovery, and also if a MR & TT will help support my prolapse at all. I consider myself a pain tolerant person, but it seems like quite the recovery. I also need BL, BA, and I’m guessing some lipo? I own a salon so time off is all on me. How many weeks off work?
Answer: Mommy Makeover The tummy tuck will remove excess fat and skin as well as correct any abdominal wall separation. It will not improve your prolapse conditions. Recovery for someone who is physically active during work is a little longer. You will want to take minimum of 2 weeks off, but longer is better. If you can go back to work at the beginning part time it would be helpful in easing you back into your work routine.

Answer: Will a TT and MR help prolapse at all? And when can I return to full time hairstyling after a mommy makeover? I would recommend getting the prolapse issues addressed prior to plastic surgery. While some reports note some improvement of slight bladder issues after muscle repair, this should not be relied upon. Generally 2-3 weeks off work is needed to feel good enough before returning to work.

Answer: Bellesoma Lift then prolapse repairs then tummy tuck You describe needing a breast augmentation and breast lift. However, you have not provided any photographs or told us your bra size. I would begin with your breasts using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. This can be done at this time and can return to work after one week. You need to have your bladder, uterus and rectal prolapses done first before having a tummy tuck. Once you have healed from these you can consider a tummy tuck. If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight. You can return to work after two weeks after a tummy tuck. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Tummy tuck Tightening of your muscle could make your prolapse worse by increasing your intraabdominsl pressure. You should check first with your gynecologist.

Answer: Tummy tuck candidate Dear Fryedmom, tummy tuck will remove loose skin and tighten abdominal muscles but it will not affect your prolapse issues. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.
