Will my results improve over time? So disappointed in the results so far - not much of a change. I keep reading that it can take 3 months to six months to see the full results of Bellafill.

Answer: It's been six weeks since Bellafill on the upper lip and I am not seeing much result. Thank you for sharing your question. Bellafill is different in its mechanism of action as it stimulates your body's own collagen formation, compared to hyaluronic acid fillers which immediately lend volume. As a result of this collagen stimulation it may take several months to see results. Hang in there and allow more time to pass for your results to mature.

Answer: Bellafill for vertical lip lines Hi, it is difficult to evaluate without a face picture. Bellafill is a wonderful product. But were you corrected with enough product?. Generally I address the mid face first, then the lines around the lips. I usually use 2-3 syringes for most patients for above the lip and below the lip. The results of bellafill generally improve at the 3-6 month mark. But if you didn't get enough placed to start with, you may not see the results you are hoping for. See your provider about your concerns.

At this point in time, the collagen that the PMMA particles are suspended in for injection has been broken down and absorbed by your body. The collagen stimulation is just beginning and will take a minimum of 3 months to evaluate your response to the Bellafill and up to 6 months or more to fully evaluate your response. That being said, I typically do not use Bellafill in this location as I have seen it migrate down into the lips on occasion in patients who have had it injected by other injectors. Bellafill is a filler that will stimulate you to make your own tissue so that you will not have to constantly come back for more injections like most of the other fillers. The concern with Bellafill is that it is a long-term filler so the fact that you do not see much in the way of results is a good thing. What it means is that the provider who injected your lips was conservative. It is much better to go back for some more rather than having to go back to have it taken out. I frequently add a little more Bellafill in a few months after lip injections in order to get the optimal result. Again, the gas tank does not go down with Bellafill but you likely did not get enough to get the results that you are looking for.
