It's difficult to determine what the reason is for the bulge that concerns you without an examination. If you are noticing that it is better in the morning and gets larger throughout the day it could be residual swelling. If you are not able to meet with your surgeon you may wish to visit with another board certified plastic surgeon near you for an evaluation.

Swelling can still be present in the lower aspect of the abdomen for up to 6 months or more. As long as you continue to see improvement then there is likely to be progress. Rarely, patients may need additional liposuction of the lower abdominal flap after a tummy tuck as the subcutaneous fat layer may still be thicker in comparison to the fat layer in the mons pubis area.
