Hi I’m 13 DPO from breast augmentation. Im wearing a Macom X small. Despite the surgery and recovery going well, I feel disappointed in my size. My old bras still fit (which makes no sense) and there’s not much projection (I look flat from the side and my clothes still gape over my chest). Just hoping for some reassurance please. Many thanks
Answer: Breast implants need time to drop and fluff Your muscles have the implants pressed flat. At 13 days post op breast augmentation, you are about 9 percent healed, settled, softened, shaped, dropped and fluffed. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author Phila., Pa.

Answer: My Implants seem small, 13 days post op, 365cc unders, B-lite, h/profile. Will this change? You are still early in the healing process and what you are seeing is not your final results yet. It usually takes about 6 months to fully recover from surgery and during these times you will experience changes which will improve your appearance. However, the size of the breasts with implants will unlikely to change over time, only their shape. Revision surgeries are safely done after the 3rd month post-op to ensure that your tissues have healed enough to undergo another surgical procedure.

Answer: Breast augmentation results with time Great question. Technically the volume of your breasts will not change with time since this would imply that your implants may get bigger with time which they will not. You may certainly feel like your breast appearance suggests a larger implant with time. This can occur as the muscle and breast tissue relaxes you will begin to round out at the bottom of the breast as well as centrally. This can help you feel like you have more projection.Good luck with the remainder of your healing.Dr Remus Repta

Answer: Breast size Thanks for the great question. It's pretty normal to have some regrets about the size immediately after surgery. Over the next few months your implants will drop and the shape will change some, giving the breasts a more normal appearance. As far as the size goes, it will not change much from what it is not and may even get a little smaller as the swelling goes down. There is usually a 1-2 month adjustment period after surgery to get used to your implants so be patient during this process. If you still think they're too small after 6 months, talk to your surgeon about changing for a larger size. Best,~Dr. Sieber

Answer: Dissapointed in size Your outcome to me looks very good. Sometimes it takes a few months for the press to look less stark. As everything softens up, a more natural shape will take place. It may take a few months for you to get used to this new body contour. Just give yourself some time. Congratulations on your surgery.
