About two year ago, I got my nose broken. And now my nose is very fragile. Every time I blow my nose or throw up or even sometimes sneeze, my nose will bleed ( And only threw one nostril "Left*). I do keep hydrated and recently I've been trying to moisturize my nose on the inside. What else can I do to help myself? Thank you. Male 155 lbs
Answer: I continue to have nosebleeds 2 years after a nasal fracture - what can I do? Hello leonel98,Thanks for your question. It seems that anything that increases pressure and blood flow to your nose opens up a small blood vessel in your left nasal passage way.Humification is very important, especially in our dry climate here in Denver. I would also recommend adding Vitamin C and Vitamin K to your diet to improve healing and strengthening blood vessel integrity.I think that you need someone to look into the left side of your nose for a small exposed blood vessel that might need to be cauterized to stop this problem permanently.Good luck,Dr. Shah

Answer: Treatment for a broken nose The treatment for broken nose is to reset the nasal bones straight with osteotomies. Many times, a deviated septum is present which redirects airflow in the nose, and creates dryness and cracking of the internal portion of the nose which causes nosebleeds. Turbulent airflow from a deviated septum can be the cause of nosebleeds. Important to evaluate the internal portion of the nose as well as the external portion. Nosebleeds are treated with cauterization in the office, while a septoplasty and reduction of the nasal fracture is performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient surgical procedure. Answer: Broken nose You need a hands on examination of the inside of the nose to see the possible source of the bleeding. There is not way to determine by your history what the problem is.
