Can I do more than six microneedling treatments in a series?

Yes, you can have more microneedling treatments, but keep in mind a combination approach will give the most improvement for acne scars. Acne scars need a combination of lmicroneedling/prp with lasers, subcision, Cosmelan and fillers. It will take a series of treatments and may need some treatments to maintain. This is a great question, thanks for asking! Four to six microneedling sessions is a general guideline that offers most people optimum results. If you’d still like to see improvements in the appearance of your acne scars, talk with your cosmetic surgeon about the possibility of continuing microneedling sessions or trying a different scar treatment method to help enhance your results even further.
 

If you are still seeing positive results from your microneedling, by all means, keep going!
Microneedling has been safely used in a wide variety of patient-types including patients of all skin-types. We recommend your treatments be 4 weeks a part.

Fortunately, micro needling is a very safe procedure and can yield some very impressive results. There is no limit to the number of treatments that you can do. The goal is to stimulate healthier collagen, and as long as you notice improvement, then continue. Be sure to protect your gains with a good quality skin care regimen. Be sure to speak to your physician about a good evidence-based skin care program. It really does matter.

There is no limit to the number of microneedling treatments you can get.  In general, I encourage patients to get a series of 4-6 treatments to see significant improvement.  As long as you are seeing improvement, I would recommend continuing treatments for your desired results.

There is no limit to the number of microneedling treatments one coulds have.  After the initial series of treatments I typically recommend switching to once every 3 months as maintenance.  The three month interval is enough to keep the fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen, working while allowing for more flexible scheduling.  Thanks, Dr. Z.
