Can microneedling be combined with PRP and filler?

Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. Thank you for your question in regards to microneedling. Microneedling is a great method to treat a plethora of skin concerns with little downtime. It generally takes several treatments to achieve desired results, although adding PRP (platelet rich plasma) will often amplify the results. Pairing PRP and microneedling is very common. It will help with skin tone, texture, pore size, fine lines, scarring and stretch marks. Fillers are injectables to enhance volume loss and would most likely be schedule out after micropen treatments once healed (about a week). To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

HiYes this combination will produce great results however if you have the fillers first we recommend waiting 2 weeks until undergoing Needling and PRP.A course of Needling such as SkinPen will need to be performed with a minimum of 3 treatments at 4 weekly intervals.Hope this helps   

Great question and short answer is yea microneedling can be combined with PRP and fillers. PRP is your own blood product that is rich in growth factors and low in inflammatory markers so when added with microneedling or even if used all by itself with injections is a great treatment and one of the most natural way to a healthy skin. Yes it will help with scars too. One of the most commonly performed treatment is microneedling.

Microneedling is excellent to help improve the skin tone and texture by stimulating the building of collagen. It is also combined with PRP to help further the building of collagen. Using PRP with filler can be done to restore volume to the face, as well. I typically do not use filler alone with microneedling for the specific intention of skin improvement as this is not what filler is intended to do.

Hello and thank you for your questions.  Microneedling with PRP and filler is possible and yes it has been shown to be good for the cosmetic appearance of the skin.  PRP really works best when injected however.  You can still benefit from microneedling it into the skin, but ideally you should have it injected and microneedled.  Make sure you are going to someone who is using a good surgical system as well as knowledgable in injecting the PRP.  It is a fairly common treatment and it can help with scar reduction.  Hope this answer helps and best of luck from the Art of Ageless Aesthetics
