What is the best help for hyperhydrosis of my head, neck, and face?

I have severe hyperhydrosis of my face and head. I sit in an air-conditioned classroom and I can feel droplets of sweat "squirting" from my pores. I cannot function as a teacher when sweat is running off my face like a fountain. I take Clondine, a blood-pressure medication given by my dermatologist. She had heard it might help. It just takes all of the moisture from my system and I get dry mouth, but I still sweat. This has been going on for over 10 years. My hair is always wet at school. Help!

Thank you for your question.  Botox can be very effective for sweating of the scalp and face.  The results are highly dose and technique dependent.  I would recommend that you visit with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist who has experience in treating hyperhidrosis with Botox.

Thanks Kirby.Thanks for your question. Cranial hyperhydrosis is problematic especially in the midwest. It is not uncommon for patients to get side effects from medicines as in your case. I think you can treat your cranial sweating with a local/regional therapy.I suggest you consider Dysport or Botox as it is effective in reducing sweat in this part of the body. Side effects and complications are low for these procedures. They have to be repeated several times per year, with most patients seeing a reduction in sweat for 4 to 60 months.
