Having some botox reactions? Taking Doxycycline after getting botox safe?

Question

I had 10 units of botox injected between my brows 2 days ago for the first time. I am going on a trip where I need to take Doxycycline to prevent malaria. I leave in 3 weeks and will start taking the medication in 3 weeks. Will these interact with each other? I am really concerned about taking the medication now. I have had a horrible headache since botox as well as a swollen lymphnode so I am worried about the reactions now.

There is no contraindications in taking Doxycycline after having a botox treatment.  YOur headache and swollen glands are likely unrelated to the botox treatment.

Yes, you can take doxycycline after Botox. Keep in mind, Botox results last 3-4 months in new areas of treatments. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

There should not be any interaction between the two medications and it is likely not the botox causing your headache and swollen glands.

There is no interaction of any sort between Doxycycline and Botox and Doxycycline has no effect on the prevention of malaria

The swollen lymph node may not have been related to the BTX. Certainly it is safe to take doxycycline
