Average amount of Dysport for men with moderate lines on forehead especially 11's.

Hello, I am going to receive Dysport injections for the first time. I am male. My lines are moderate to severe... especially between my eyes (11's). How much Dysport can I expect to get?

It would depend on how thick and strong your gabellar muscle group is. Average for a male is between 60-100 units. Remember these units are doubled over Botox (30-50 units) but are priced cheaper per unit. Hope this helps. JB

It is difficult to accurately answer your question without seeing photos. You have to consider the factors, such as do you want a more "frozen" look with minimal movement or a more natural look with more movement. Additionally, males typically require more Dysport than females to accomplish their goals. I believe it is safe to say you will you need at least 30 units of Dysport in each area.

Hello Dnopp. The amount of Dysport depends in part on how much muscle mass there and how deep the frown lines are. The FDA approval for this area was 50 units, but we have found that most patients in our practice use 60 units to achieve the 3.5 - 4 month duration that is standard for this injection. Start at 60 and see if you get at least three months of benefit. If not, you can go up from there. Best of luck.

Men in general have thicker facial muscles and may require more product than women to get the desired effect.  The average treatment for the glabella (between the eyes) is 30-80 units.  For the forehead it is 20-60 units.  Your injector should review the recommendation with you based on your assessment.

Men in general require a higher amount of neuromodulators (Dysport, Botox) than women to achieve improvement of deep lines and wrinkles. That is because the involved facial muscles are bulkier in males. An experienced injector will estimate the number of units of Dysport or Botox you will need based on an evaluation of your wrinkles, bulkiness of the muscles, etc. For moderate forehead and glabellar lines (11s) a good place to start would about 90-120 units of Dysport or 30-40 units of Botox. A follow up in 2 weeks can help determine if you need more to achieve optimal results. Good luck!
