I would wait a full 2 weeks to make sure you are not just getting delayed results. If you got 60 units injected for your "11's", you should see effect. Photos would be helpful, by the way. Sometimes patients are not clear on what to look for in terms of effect. The effect you should see is the inability to contract the muscles that cause the lines. The lines themselves will still be there if they are deep. If there are any questions, see your injector for followup examination.
Dysport is a great treatment for these areas but it is measured differently than other neurotoxins like Botox or Xeomin. The standard recommendation is 60 units of Dypsort in the frown lines alone with 30-60 units in the forehead area. It could take up to 10 days to see your final result.
I'm sorry about your situation. I think you're Dysport is taking some time to work as the dose described seems appropriate. Wait 2 weeks for maximal effect and then have a follow up appointment. Some people have stronger muscles than other and you may require more Dysport, but not until 2 weeks!Good luck. Dr. ALDO
Hello,Thank you for sharing your question. Neuromodulators such as Dysport and Botox take up to 2 weeks for maximum effect. 60 units is a decent amount that should soften the frown and forehead lines. Without a before/after photo, it's difficult to say what could have "went wrong." Depending on when the vial was reconstituted, it is possible that the Dysport may have been less effective. It is always a good idea to keep the lines of communication open and follow up with your injector at 2 weeks, if you are dissatisfied with your results. Hope this helps!
Results with dysport vary with each individual. Post injection it will take a minimum of 3 days to start noticing mild effects. It can take up to 10-14 days for maximum results. Dysport effects are often earlier than Botox. For and questions or a consultation please do not hesitate to contact our nurses.
It can take up to 14 days to see final results from Dysport treatment. If after that time you still have not noticed an improvement visit with your injector for an evaluation. You may need a touch up or perhaps it's better to switch to a different neuromodulator.
There are many reasons why the effect of Dysport may not seem to last long or not show any significant effect. This could be either to less than an optimal number of units, improper injection, or if fewer units were injected than what was actually purchased. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
Thank you for your question. I recommend giving it more time before assessing your results as it can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effects of Dysport. However, you may notice some improvements as soon as 2-3 days. If you have any other concerns please follow up with your injector. Best of Luck!
Hello,I am not certain exactly what muscle(s) you had treated with Dysport. 60 units that was properly placed in the glabella (corrugator supercilii muscle, the muscle that causes the 11s) is usually a sufficient dose. However, if that 60 units also included a forehead treatment (frontalis muscle, the muscle that causes horizontal lines), then it was only about half of what was needed (or less). So, dosage could be the problem.Another possibility is that you weren't properly informed about what to expect. Dysport and Botox only stop the muscle that caused the wrinkle (11s). It does not repair the skin if it is already damaged. For your whole life, you have been "pounding" on that skin every time you furrow your brow. That repeated furrowing of the brow over time breaks the skin down, much like if you bend anything over and over in the same spot. The skin can repair itself to some extent, so over time deep creases will get a bit better if you stop furrowing the brow using Dysport/Botox. For most of my new patients who already have developed creases, a single treatment of Restylane is used to fix the crease and the Dysport/Botox is used to keep it that way. That combination is very powerful and can elliminate even the deepest of creases. Now if you still have full ability to furrow your brow, then the Dysport didn't work. Either it was not placed properly in the muscle, not enough was used, or you are immune. Some people require more than others, but actual immunitiy is extremely rare. In the vast majority of cases, the problem is failure to place the Dysport into the muscle properly . . . the target was missed. Dysport typically takes 1 to 3 days to have a substantial result and by 7 days it is almost always fully functioning. In contrast, Botox is 3-5 days before any affect is seen and 1 to 2 weeks for 100%.
It can take up to 2 weeks to see the full results of Botox/Dysport treatment. I would give the Dysport a little more time to work. If after 14 days you remain unhappy with your results, I would followup with your injector to discuss what could be done to improve on the results.
I'm sorry that your lid dropped after Dysport treatment. Continue to use the eye drops as prescribed. This should begin to improve over the next few weeks. This effect is temporary and will completely resolve.
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to give you advice without examining you in person. However, it is possible that your Dysport treatment is starting to wear off. I recommend having a follow up with your injector for an evaluation and to discuss any concerns you may have. Best of Luck!
Thank you for your question and I am sorry to hear about your experience. From your description it seems like you received too high of a dose. Unfortunately, there is no way to reverse Botox or Dysport and it will take 3-6 months for the effects to wear off. If you continue treatment in the...
