So strictly saying, they should not be used to darken the colour of the eye. Moreover, there is no guarantee that your iris will turn brown. It is only a percentage of patients who notice change in the iris colour. Obviously, some of the side effects are eye redness, long eyelashes, and long term damage to the eye surface leading to dry eye disease.
