Two implants of the same volume but different profile have the same volume spread out over a different shape. High profile implants project more and have a narrower base, while a moderate profile implant of the same volume will have that same volume spread out over wider area - it will be a wider but flatter implant
A high profile implant has a narrower base and higher projection than a moderate profile implant of the same size. Regarding your specific question, 450cc moderate and high profile implants have the same volume (cc). This is something that you need to discuss with your surgeon prior to breast augmentation. The implant profile will have an effect on the breast appearance after surgery.
Both implants contain the same volume. The difference lies in the diameter and projection of the implant. Choosing an implant that fits the chest/breast well is critical. Your plastic surgeon can advise you best on the implant that would be more suitable for you based on your measurements during an exam.Best of luck to you,
Thank you for your question. A 450 cc moderate profile and a 450 cc low profile implant will have the same volume. The high profile implant will be narrower but stick out more the moderate profile implant will be wider and flatter.Unfortunately, this can sometimes be confusing for patients so here is the thinking that I use in my office. We have the implant sizers for our patients to try on.I start with a moderate profile implant and change the size until the width of the implant fits the chest nicely and has just enough curve under the arm to balance with the curve of the hip. To me, the diameter of the implant is the most important part.Once we find the correct diameter we begin to play with projection. If the patient likes the diameter but wants to be smaller we look at a similar diameter implant in a low profile. If the patient likes the diameter but wants to be larger we look at the same diameter implant but in a high profile. So, I would encourage you to think about how the diameter of the implant fits with your hips and your shoulders and then think about which style, high and moderate are low appeals to you the most. Don't just go by the numbers, go by how the implant that your frame.I hope that this thinking will be helpful to you.Best wishes.
Both implants you describe have the exact same volume, but they have a different shape. The moderate profile implant will be wider and not project as much. The high profile implant will be narrower and project more. The cc's are the same for both implants. This is confusing for a lot of women. They will be the same volume in cc's. The moderate plus will be a few more mm wider and few less mm in projection. Theer will not be a noticeable size difference in clothes. I wish you a safe and healthy result.Dr. Gill
There are two characteristics that describe any implant, size and shape. Size is based upon the number of cc of saline or silicone gel that is contained within the implant. For any given size implant, you can have four basic shapes. A low profile which has a wide base with minimal projection, moderate profile which has a slightly narrower base with more projection and a high profile which has the narrowest base with the most projection. The fourth option is an atomic shaped implant which is fuller at the bottom than at the top. Which implant you should receive is determined by what you want your final results to look like. I find it is very helpful to present your surgeon with a picture of what you would like your results to look like, in order to help him determine which implant is best.
High profile implant have more projection that moderate profile implants. In terms of selecting your implant size, I consider two factors when selecting implants for my patients:1. Dimensional planning2. Gel Implant Sizing systemDimensional planning – The measurements of your chest wall are taken. Also, the breast dimensions including the height, width, and current dimensions of each breast form the basis of dimensional planning. Based on these measurements, the implant size is recommended. This will give you a unique breast implant that is suited for your body frame. However, there are some limitations of what size we can recommend. For instance, some implants may just be too big for a narrow chest wall. Your surgeon can review this with you during the consultation.Gel Implant Sizing system – During the preliminary breast implant consultation, you will be provided with an option to “try on” a variety of implant shapes and sizes. You can also visualize the possible outcomes of your surgery which helps you to get that perfect size to give you the shape that you longed for. This way your preferences are known and you can then pick a range of implants that will “fit” just right to give a soft natural fuller look. Hope this helps.Dr. BasuHouston, TX
A 450 cc implant is the same between the two different profiles. The difference is the shape. The high profile has a narrower diameter but more projection.
Both have the same volume, that is, 450 cc.The difference is that the high profile implant has a narrower base and more projection. For example, for Allergan implants, the HP has a diameter of 12.4 cm and a projection of 5.2 cm. An MP has a diameter of 14.4 cm, and a projection of 3.9 cm. Based upon breast measurements, and an understanding of your goals, a consulting surgeon can help sort through the pros and cons of each alternative. Best wishes.
It looks like you are a good candidate to achieve a natural shape to your breasts after augmentation. I would recommend a dual plane technique with silicone gel implants. In terms of implant sizing, I consider two factors when selecting implants for my patients:1. Dimensional planning2. Gel ...
Thank you for your question. The most likely explanation for the pop is that you were forming a capsular membrane which you popped or broke during your vigorous massage. The result sounds as though it improved the feel of your implant.I do suggest you see her plastic surgeon for...
I agree with your plastic surgeon that you should wait until your rash is gone. As the rash could potentially interfere with healing.
