This is always a difficult decision for some. In my opinion, the best thing to do is have a thorough sizing session. I provide my patients with a range of about 3-4 implants that are appropriate for their specific measurements. I then have them try these implants on in a special sizing bra. With this process, my patients have been able to choose their own implants. I have found this to be the best method for implant sizing. Be sure to see a board certified PS in your area. They should be willing to spend the time with you doing this. Best of luck!
At size 36 A each 200 cc’s of implant correspondsto 1 cup size change. 400 cc implantswould take you up to a size C. I alwaysrecommend small round textured silicone gel implants placed retro-pectoralsince they look and feel more natural, are more stable, less likely to rippleor have complications needing revision. Implant profile is irrelevant in the retro-pectoral position since themuscle compresses it. There is nosignificant difference between 365 and 400 cc implants.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
To help my patients achieve their goals, I consider two factors when selecting implants for my patients:1. Dimensional planning2. Gel Implant Sizing systemDimensional planning – The measurements of your chest wall are taken. Also, the breast dimensions including the height, width, and current dimensions of each breast form the basis of dimensional planning. Based on these measurements, the implant size is recommended. This will give you a unique breast implant that is suited for your body frame. However, there are some limitations of what size we can recommend. For instance, some implants may just be too big for a narrow chest wall. Your surgeon can review this with you during the consultation.Gel Implant Sizing system – During the preliminary breast implant consultation, you will be provided with an option to “try on” a variety of implant shapes and sizes. You can also visualize the possible outcomes of your surgery which helps you to get that perfect size to give you the shape that you longed for. This way your preferences are known and you can then pick a range of implants that will “fit” just right to give a soft natural fuller look. Hope this helps.
Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice to be truly helpful. Given your questions and concerns, you'll be best off spending additional time with your plastic surgeon communicating your goals carefully. Keep in mind, that there is no reliable correlation between the breast implant size/profile use and specific cup size achieved.Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you're looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging technology may also be very helpful during this communication process.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery.I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to more "natural" looks ) help.
Thank you for the question. To best help you, a physical examination or picture evaluation is required in order to determine which procedures and techniques would be best for your case.Dr. Campos
The hardest decision to make regarding breast implant surgery is the selection of the size of the implant. Most women, after their implant surgery, wish they had chosen a larger size. The implants do appear smaller after being placed in the body, especially if they are placed under the muscle. Therefore, if you are undecided between 2 different sizes, I would recommend choosing the larger size.Good Luck!
This is the most common question, and given the vast array of implant styles, fill, profiles, there is a "best" one for you. We think that if you have chosen your surgeon well, pictures, trial bras, and discussions with you after examination of your particular breast size and shape will guide the surgeon to the correct choice for you. Know yourself and what you want to look like, and trust your surgeon to get you there.
Thank you for your question. I tell all of my patients “Dimensions and proportions are the determinants of a beautiful breast; not volume.” I recommend that you make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your breast augmentation options based on breast measurements and tissue dynamics.
there is not a great difference between 365 cc and 400 cc breast implants. This difference is just over a tablespoon. The best option for you is to revisit your plastic surgeon and asked to undergo a breast implant sizing system evaluation.During this examination implants of various sizes can be placed into a non-padded bra and you may look in the Mayor to see how you'll look with each size. You can also try the Rice test in the privacy of your own home.
There are a number of options regarding breast implant size. What one person says is too small another says is too big while a third person says its perfect. Also your specific anatomy will determine the best options for you.See an experienced board certified surgeon to discuss your options.
Breast implants can, sometimes, not drop as they should. But it can happen as late as 3 months after surgery.Light massage on that side may help.Several patients had implants drop after swimming - it seems the crawl stroke is most helpful. If nothing helps and the implant stays too high - you are...
The first assumption you are making is that the listed sizes are the actual sizes, this is not always the case. The second issue is that certainly different body types produce different results with the same implant.A patient who is 5'2" 100 lbs. will get a different result than a patient who is...
Keep the sun away from scars is your best bet. Scars behave differently in different people and can become too dark permanently (hyperpigmentation or dyschromia) if exposed to the sun. Better to spray tan if you want to hide it. Definitely use a strong SPF (>30) sunscreen on it even though it...
