My left side is less dominate side and it seems like the implant refuses to shuffle it's way down like the right implant. Of course I'm right handed so everything on that side is working perfect. Could the left side get stuck too high and never drop? I'm doing my massaging on both and I'm wearing a band 24/7. I'm just afraid that doing the same thing to both will cause them to be off in measurement in 3 months. Is this common and I'm overreacting?
Answer: Post operative asymmetry Implants can take up to 2 months to completely "fall." During that time period one implant is often lower than the other. Ultimately, the two implants are at the same level/position once the descent is complete. Not sure how recently your surgery was but I assume not too long ago. Best of luck!

Answer: One implant dropping before the other It is very common for one implant to drop before the other implant drops into position. I advise my patient that this process can take 3- 4 months and sometimes longer. You did not give the date of your surgery but my advice to you would be to give them at least 6 months to settle before becoming concerned. As always, consult your own plastic surgeon if you have concerns.

Answer: Implant descent asymmetry Implants often descend into their final positions at slightly different rates. And it often takes 3 or more months for the implants to reach their final position and shape. You might not have anything to worry about. But you might have an early capsular contracture on the left side or the left side pocket might be dissected differently than the right. If either of these situations is the case, you might be need to have something done to correct the asymmetry. It is best to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: My left side implant isn't moving as down like the right side. Is this normal? Ideally everyone would want their implants to drop at the same rate, but it's not unusual for one implant to drop sooner than the other so try not to worry. Implants can take anywhere from 2-3 months to settle but everyone is different when it comes to healing so try to be patient until you see your surgeon again for a follow up appointment. I recommend continuing to wear your band 24/7 and massaging and keeping in close contact with your surgeon. ac

Answer: One breast slow to drop after breast augmentation Thank you for your question. It is very common 41 breast to drop and assume a more normal shape after breast augmentation. There are many potential reasons for this but the most common one is that there was a slight asymmetry or difference between the 2 breasts before surgery. If one breast was smaller, narrower, or higher than the other breasted makes sense that this side will accommodate to your new breast implant more slowly. The breast displacement exercises that you are doing may help. However it can take 3-4 months for that side to drop. However it is important to follow up with your plastic surgeon. If one side is firmer, tighter or is not making any progress your surgeon should be aware.
