Will my 30-40 blister scars ever go away? What can I do? Also I have big brown and red patches all over my face, particularly around my mouth and under my chin. They look like bruises rather than brown spots rising to surface. I'm so concerned that my face is permanently scarred from this. sorry, photos are not in order. I have gone back to the company who treated my face. They've been very nice and are trying to resolve this with creams and previously with hydrocortisone for swelling.
Answer: Laser burn improving Hi Bohemians, It appears that you have a laser burn from the resurfacing laser. It is possible that the incorrect settings were used or that too many passes were performed. In addition, wound care is critical and for burns such as these I recommend hydrogel dressings like the second skin brand. Some swelling and redness is normal, however, yours appears to be excessive. To help your skin, I would recommend 1% hydrocortisone ointment and daily antihistamine use. It is also very important to keep your skin out of the sun as it heals. In the future, be sure to choose an experienced doctor to perform your laser treatments. He or she will be sure to use the proper settings and perform the treatment in a smooth and even fashion so that the results are not so blotchy. It will get better! Be patient, Take care -Tarek

Answer: After Fractional Laser Your pictures raise more questions than answers. What was used for wound care after the resurfacing? Do you have a history of cold sores? I assume the laser was a CO2. Was it CO2 or Erbium-YAG? What treatment parameters were used? How many passes? Was there any kind of pre-op prep? Why is the treated area under your chin so uneven? Were scars present, and is that why you had the resurfacing? So much more goes into resurfacing than just doing the procedure. Fortunately, facial skin is what I call "privileged". It will recover from most adverse conditions in time. But to get a reasonable response to your question, the above and other questions need to be answered, and it would help greatly to see what your face looks like in person. Pictures can only reveal so much. Sorry I can't offer a more definitive answer for you.
