Can lip filler be removed straight away?

I would advise to wait to remove the filler and wait until you see the final results. Swelling and bruising is normal and should go away in a couple days. You will begin to see the final results after 1-2 weeks. If you are still not happy with the results, it can be removed with hyaluronidase and results can be seen almost immediately.Best of Luck!

I don't recommend removing filler immediately. Swelling and/or bruising can be typical. It takes 1-2 weeks for final results with lip fillers. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Thank you for your question.I would give it a week or so to let the swelling come down after your injections. If she had to remove filler you more than likely have more swelling than normal, as well as bruising. Give it a week and if you are not satisfied, contact your injector to see what can be done to correct the issue.

If she used a larger gauge needle to poke a hole and allow filler to squeeze out, yes, filler can be removed when this is done immediately after injection. If this just happened, it is too early to tell and you should wait until the swelling has gone down to assess the final symmetry.

No, this wouldn't be typical. It can take 1-2 weeks for final results, as swelling, which can be asymmetrical, resolves. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Using needle for filler removal immediately after injection would make some sense if hyaluronidase was not available or the filler was not made of hyaluronic acid, e.g.. Radiesse, Ellanse or other permanent/semi-permanent fillers. The only reason to remove filler immediately would be in the case of vascular compromise although not with the needle but with large dose of hyaluronidase (again, it works only on hyaluronic acid fillers). If there are no frightening symptoms, please wait until the initial swelling is gone and than re-assess. Good luck!

Until the bruise completely resolves, you cannot judge how your lips will look.  The Juvederm works much like a sponge.  It binds with water and plumps up the space in which it was injected.  It takes 4-5 days to fully spread out and plump the lips.  Meanwhile, the bruise will resolve over the next week or so.  Until all of that happens, you can't see the "real" results.  After about a week, if you don't like the results, you should return to your injector.  Sometimes, a small additional amount can be injected in order to even the lips out.  Other times, the area that is more full can be gently heated with a Nd:Yag laser and the Juvederm then smoothed out.  Worse case scenario, an enzyme can be injected which will dissolve the Juvederm.
