I got Juvederm injected into my lips 3 days ago. The injector hit a vessel and i instantly Bruised in that area. I iced all day yesterday and using arnica. The swelling has gone down a little. Its really sensitive along with my mustache area. It feels like there might be smalls cuts on the inside when talking so I’ve been applying neosporin to that area. My injector says I’ll be fine and to keep icing but I’ve been reading a lot about vessels getting hit and I’m worried.pictures were taken today

Yes, bruising and/or swelling can be typical after lip fillers. It can take 1-2 weeks for final results. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Hello and thank you for your question and photo.  Unfortunately, there is always a possibility of bruising and swelling with lip augmentation.  The lips are highly vascular and inadvertent injury to a small vessel can occur.  I would certainly recommend you continue the arnica topical and possibly by mouth, the ice should help as well. It usually takes two weeks for minimal swelling to resolve.  If you are concerned at all, I would reach out to your injector.  They will be happy to see you and ease your concerns. This looks like a really big bruise. Arnica and ice may help, but it may take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve along with the swelling. If it gets worse instead of better then I would make sure to follow up with your injector sooner. Best wishes.

Thank you for your question.Unfortunately it appears you have a large bruise following your injections. There is no way for an injector to predict how you will respond to injections and in some situations this is common. Stay patient, continue to ice and use the arnica. Warm compresses in between icing may help the bruise dissolve faster. Good luck.

I am sorry you experienced such a large bruise.  Unfortunately, any time a needle is put into our skin, there is the possibility this can happen.  The lips, in particular, are very vascular, which increases the chance of bruising.  In the future, be sure that you do not ingest ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Fish Oil, Vitamin E or red wine for about a week before your injections.  All of these thin our blood, which makes bruising more likely.Icing is good to do.  I would also recommend applying arnica gel or cream to the bruise four times daily.  This should completely resolve in 10 - 14 days.

Looks like you have just a large bruise. Apply moist, warm compresses a few times a day and this should resolve in a matter of days or a week. Good luck from New York City
