Hi. In my opinion brachioplasty or arm lift is the ideal method to deal with batwing arms. But liposuction can be used to minimise it in younger patients who have great skin elasticity and less skin excess. But for best results arm lift is a better option. Hope that I have cleared your doubt. Thank you for posting your query. Wishing a healthy life.
Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs. However, if you have hanging skin already then liposuction will make the situation worse. You may need a brachioplasty to excise the excess hanging skin.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Liposuction alone will probably not provide the results you are seeking. Liposuction of the upper arm, followed by removal of excess skin and additional fat is recommended. The remaining skin is contoured and stretched over the upper arm to create a toned, fit, and more youthful arm.
Hello,If the problem is too much fat on the arms, liposuction can work very well to slim them down. If the problem also involves loose or hanging skin, an arm lift will be required. Aging and weight fluctuations with weight loss as well as genetics can cause skin laxity that may require an arm lift.I suggest you see a Plastic Surgeon in person to review the options. All the best to you,Dr. Nancy de Kleer
Providing that you have significant sagginess of the arm skin, only skin excision by means of arm lift (brachioplasty) will create improvement. Liposuction may not be successful if done alone. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck.
Dear sara anderson,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Liposuction can help shape arms with extra fat but minimal excess skin. Liposuction can also be an adjunct to help shape your arms with a short incision arm lift (mini brachioplasty). This is a benefit to patients who prefer a shorter scar and have good skin quality. Extended or traditional brachioplasty procedures on the other hand are the preferred procedures for patients with excess skin (sometimes referred to as “bat wings”).
Hello, and thank you for your question. Depending on the amount of excess fat and skin, you would likely need to do an arm lift with possible liposuction. If you have a large amount of excess skin, liposuction alone could make the situation worse. I suggest you schedule a in person meeting with a board-certified plastic surgeon to help discuss your concerns and needs. Good luck!
Liposuction doesn't work with excess of skin actually if you have loose skin after lipo can be worse, so usually we perform lipo and arm lift or braquioplasty
Photos and history (age, height, weight and weight fluctuation history) help us answer your question.Liposuction is a great remedy for ‘bat wings’, but it’s not for everyone. If you have significant loose skin, then you may require a brachioplasty (arm lift).Best wishes,Dr. Taranow
