Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it is difficult to make any kind of recommendation without at least a photo or two. I can tell you that I typically treat discoloration under the eyes one of two ways. The first is by injecting a bit of filler into the tear troughs to restore subtle volume and rejuvenate the area. The other option is a lower eyelid lift, which is a surgical procedure that can achieve more dramatic, durable results. I advise you to schedule a consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon for further assessment and a customized treatment plan.
This is such a good question, as many of us have dark circles. Dark circles can be due to a variety of causes including allergies, blood vessels beneath the skin or volume deficiency creating shadows. Depending on the cause of your dark circles there are various treatment options including laser or filler. With a comprehensive exam your provider should be able to offer the best treatment for you. -Dr. H
Dark circles around the eyes can be caused by many things. Some genetic, some age related, some environmental and wellness related. The skin around the eye is very thin and the vessels underneath and around can be more apparent with certain skin tones. A shadow from an under-eye-bag can be the culprit for the undereye darkness. Although this can be genetic and present in early childhood it also appears with aging, typically requires a lower lid blepharoplasty. In some cases, there is also an association with a systemic or eye allergy, When it is caused from an allergy it can improve with avoiding the allergen or taking allergy medications. Metabolic reasons such as low iron has been associated with under eye darkness. The treatments can vary per individual but in many people, we can reduce and even eliminate the dark circles with platelet rich plasma and/or under eye fillers. I feel that this works best when combined. But some people only need one or the other. If the darkness is from an under-eye bag a surgical lower lid blepharoplasty may be recommended. The opus plasma is a device that may also be used to tighten the skin under the eye and aid in rebuilding collagen and elastin. This building of collagen and elastin is also the reason why the platelet rich plasma works well.
Thank you for your question. First Dark circles, normally called Peri-orbital Melanosis, is multifactorial. So hereditary, allergy induced, Night shift , poor sleep habits etc. There are ways to approach this condition by using numerous methods and regimen. To mention a few, Dermafrac, a vacuum assisted micro-needling/ subcutaneous injector device helps tremendously, repeated treatments are needed. PRP, injections under the eyes, notably PRF( Platelet Rich Fibrin) a more efficacious PRP is also very helpful. In our office we use both and follow it by a home regimen from PCA (Arizona based dermatologic company). I hope this helps and best of luck
