PRP Can definitely improve undereye hollowing. it will all depend on the quality of "spinner" your clinic uses. using only PRP will reduce the risk of vascular occlusion.
Hi @Whs88wr! Although PRP injections are one of the safer undereye injections to get, no aesthetic procedure is without risk. It is extremely rare, but as with filler or any undereye injectable, if administered incorrectly, PRP injections can cause blindness, infection, or internal bleeding.
A vascular occlusion is a very rare side effect that occurs when an injectable is injected either into an artery or around an artery so blood flow is stopped – very, very rarely this can cause blurry vision or sudden permanent blindness. To date however, there has only been one reported case of blindness related to PRP in the literature that I have seen.* Dermal fillers tend to have a higher risk of blindness (Botulinum Toxin less so), and these types of incidents usually have to do with the experience and competenceof the injector. Again, this is exceedingly rare, but there were 100 reports of vision loss globally due to dermal fillers in 2015* and your doctor should inform you of this very unlikelyrisk before the procedure.PRP is generally extremely safe and uses the body’s own growth factors (drawn from your blood and spun through a centrifuge), to help promote healing and rejuvenation.PRP also encourages collagen production, which may assist in plumping out dark hollows.Laser and micro needling are other possible optionsDisclaimer: All results are individual. All procedures have risks. Speak to your doctor about your symptoms.
Hi, this is Ebru Acar, MD. Under eye hollowing can appear because of two conditions; such as the lack of fat packs by the under eye ageining, and periocular dermal pigment changes. If your problem is dermal pigment changes, under eye prp is good for you. But if the problem is lack of fat and deepining of the tear trough, fillers may help you. The fillers with mesotherapy agents must be choised firstly.
Thank you for your question! PRP can help improve hollowing under the eyes and does not cause vascular occlusion. Hope this helps!
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the art of removing a vial of your own blood and extracting the platelets which contain growth factors to rejuvenate tissue. We love using PRP for under-eye hollows as it yields a smooth, natural look. I liken PRP as a "cousin" to stem cells. It PRP stimulates your own production of whatever tissue it is placed in. Under the eye, it stimulates skin, blood vessel,s and collagen formation. As it is your own tissue, the "risk" of allergic reaction is zero. We see an almost immediate result with smoothing and filling of the hollow, then a bit of regression as the growth factors begin to take root, then a gradual new firmness over the next six months. .The likelihood of vascular occlusion with PRP is practically zero. Unlike dermal fillers, if PRP would be injected into a small vessel, it would be absorbed and dissipated. Dermal fillers, which we do inject on occasion under the eye, can occlude blood vessels and necrose the surrounding tissue.
Hi @Optimistic102585! PRP is a natural and non-surgical solution to treat under eye circles and bags. PRP is highly effective for restoring sunken eyes. Generally, two vials of blood will be collected from the patient and placed into a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins and separates the...
