Hello! I am in my early 30s and have been struggling with eczema around my eyes for several years now, which has caused skin changes around my eyes, including crepey skin/lines. I received Botox this afternoon and the injector recommended I look into PRP injections for this area. I am wondering if this would help, and/or if there is anything else I can do to improve the appearance of my eye area?
Answer: Dark Circles/Eye Bags/Wrinkles -- Fillers Belotero, Volbella; Fraxel/Halo; emeragecosmetics ENLIGHTEN/AERIFY/COSMELAN this needs lasers and plasma pen in the office, and at home peels and rollers (see link). at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (emerageskin roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with or without fat pad repositioning will be the best long term. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles without surgery. Non invasive less downtime options such as fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP, cosmelan peels, and microneedling RF like Fractora or morpheus can all help give some improvement. Accutite can often be used or stronger lasers like erbium or co2 spot treatment can tighten the skin and give very quick improvement in wrinkles and texture. I suggest you get a formal consultation to see what is best for you and your goals. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Fractional lasers such as co2 can help tighten and reduce appearance of fine lines under the eyes Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Crepy Eyelid skin Good morning CameoAppearance, Yes indeed, PRP is one option to help crepy skin under the eyelids, however there are other options as well that are less invasive and also less expensive. Beware of places that only have one or two options to offer you eg "one treatment / machine fits all ". It is best for you to seek a consultation with a board certified Facial Plastic or Plastic Surgeon who is well versed with both invasive and non-invasive techniques, (and has them all available at their fingertips), and then together you can create a suitable treatment plan that suits your lifestyle and your budget and will keep you looking natural and fresh, and that is effective! Best Wishes in your quest, Sincerely, Anna Petropoulos, MD, FRCS Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon Boston's Back Bay and North Shore

Answer: PRP for crepey skin & lines under eyes As you suffer from eczema, it’s important to speak to your doctor about whether any moisturisers or products you are using on your eyes may be irritating them. PRP does not typically cause allergic reactions and has a rejuvenating effect on crepe or thin skin as it contains your body’s own growth factors. It can help improve quality and texture of skin, while dermal fillers can add volume but are more likely to cause an allergic reaction. Micro-needling and laser may also be useful here. It’s vital though that you get a personalised consult to see what is best for your situation. In older patients, where the fat-pads are highly diminished or there is severe wrinkling or saggy skin or quite a lot of heavy puffiness, a blepharoplasty is generally the gold standard of freshening up ageing eyes. Disclaimer: All results are individual. All procedures have risks. Speak to your doctor about your symptoms.
