This July, I got liposuction in my abdomen and flanks and had the fat transferred to my buttocks. I noticed that I had these small reddish/purplish spots (not sure if they're bruises or not) under the skin where the incisions were made, but didn't think it would be a big deal since I thought they would go away as the scars healed. Now it's October and they are still there. I'm worried that these marks are permanent. Is there anything that can be done about this or does it just take time?

Answer: Is bruising at tumescent liposuction/fat transfer sites normal 3 months after surgery?
Hello. Great question. I am sorry for your post op difficulties. A personal examination is needed to determine if there is no fluid collection present. Please schedule a follow up appointment with your surgeon.
Oral sedation can be used for awake liposuction, but those who have low tolerance to pain do better with IV sedation or general sedation. Usually once you are numbed, the procedure goes well. I would suggest rescheduling your procedure under general anesthesia.
Surgeons almost always use tumescent liposuction for safety and much less bleeding. You can get great results with just tumescent liposuction. The power assistance or Vaser assistance is just to help diminish fatigue for the surgeon. A skilled surgeon can use several techniques.
