Why does my non surgical nose job feel tingly after a year?

I had Juvederm injected into the bridge of my nose a year ago to conceal a bump. Now, it’s starting to feel kind of odd and tingly. If she hit a nerve or there was possible tissue necrosis, wouldn’t it have happened before the one year mark?

Thanks for the question and I appreciate your concern. The tingling could be due to the fact that the filler is getting reabsorbed by the body. I would schedule a follow-up with your doctor for an in-person assessment as dermal filler injections in the nose can have complications.  In rare cases, these symptoms could indicate the onset of an infection, which you would want to treat as soon as possible. Good luck to you!

Serious complications such as necrosis would have been apparent shortly after injection, so it is unlikely the symptoms you are experiencing are related to something serious from your Juvederm injection.  I encourage you to contact your injector to discuss your concerns.

You are quite right, scary complications such as necrosis or embolism would have revealed themselves by now.  My gut response is that the filler is absorbing and dissolving, and now the sensory nerves in the area are, in a sense, "waking up".  They have been compressed and now are free!  I would check with your injector and make sure there is nothing else going on, like a very early, non-related, skin infection or other issue.  Sometimes skin tingling is associated with zoster and the tingling can happen before any type of rash appears.  Best to get checked out--just in case.
