Hi and good question. We have performed Profound on Fitzpatrick ype 4 patients (i.e., darker middle eastern, asian ethnicities) with success and no complications. We do "pre treat" these patients with hydroquinone several weeks before the Profound RF treatment. Also we screen to see if there is any history of hypertrophic scarring. Consult with experienced providers to see if you are a candidate.

Most people get small papules after Profound RF. They always resolve, usually in a few days. When they persist longer than that I have found that Benadryl cream or a mild steroid cream will help them resolve more quickly.
