Hi Palong1, The most troubling aspect of your question is that an aesthetician is scheduled to perform your Profound treatment. I believe that Profound RF should be performed by a physician, I personally would not allow anyone but a physician to perform the treatment on me. Profound RF is a great treatment for your deep wrinkles. There should not be any problems or dangers due to your autoimmune disease as long as it is not active. As long as you follow the proper protocol before and after your Profound treatment there should not be a risk of infection. Please make sure to choose your treating physician most carefully. Good luck and be well. Dr. P
Every state has different laws as to who is "legal" to perform various medical treatments. Even when it's allowed by law for an aesthetician to be the technician for such treatments, most physicians choose to perform the more serious procedures themselves..There are many factors to consider when treating each individual patient. I would encourage anyone who is considering procedures of this nature to select a practice that has opted for physician or RN level providers.
In California, only MD's and RN's are allowed to use Profound RF. I do my own radiofrequency treatments. A well trained RN could do a great job but there is more into these machines than just "stamping" the skin.
hello, Thank you for your question! I perform several profound treatments per week to the face, but I do have my aestheticians trained to perform body treatments. In the facial region I feel my understanding of the musculature and desired lifting vectors result in superior technique but that technique can be trained. I do feel that hyper pigmentation should be discussed as anytime you apply hear near the pigmentation forming cells they can make dark spots. I have not seen this in my practice though. I hope that helps!Dr G
Thank you for your question. Profound treatments can be done by an aesthetiician, nurse or physician. Best to check with your state laws.Best
Small bumps on the face are normal after this treatment. Majority of them go away after 2 weeks. If they persist, I use a low dose triamcinolone cream for 1 week. You must see your doctor to make sure there is nothing else going on.
Hi Ictus, Great question! I nearly always treat my Profound patients on their forehead and around their eyes. Profound RF can be safely and effectively used on the forehead and around the eyes for better facial rejuvenation, though the majority of physicians do not perform the treatment in...
Given that Profound RF is a bipolar radiofrequency machine, it coagulates blood vessels, meaning it dries them out. This theoretically can even help with Rosacea. It won't be a treatment for Rosacea but definitely won't make it worse.
