Thank you for sharing your concerns about your recent rhinoplasty procedure. Given that your surgery was only one month ago, you are likely still seeing a significant amount of swelling. As I am sure your surgeon mentioned, this swelling is to be expected and is completely normal for up to one year after surgery. As the swelling goes down over the next few months, you should be able to appreciate some refinement in your nasal features. I recommend following up with your surgeon at his/her recommended intervals and you should certainly discuss your concerns. However, I am fairly confident that once the swelling subsides you will be happier with the results. Happy healing!

It is always difficult to assess the final result so early in the healing process.  Swelling can take up to a year to resolve. At one month following rhinoplasty, the junction between the tip and the dorsum will likely be swollen.  You will probably need 6 months or more to assess this more predictably.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

At one month post op, you nose is still swollen.  Be patient and give it time.  Follow your doctors instructions and discuss concerns with your surgeon.

At one month out your nose is likely very swollen. You have to give it a year or longer for the swelling to subside.

Hello selaystoman and thank you for your question. I think the early results are promising from what you are seeing, given the fact that you still have a large amount of swelling. I would be patient since you will likely have changes in the appearance over your nose - not only over the next few months, but the next year. Hello and thank you for your question. Yes you are right that it is too early to judge, as one month post surgery there  is likely to be some swelling. It can take upto 6 months for all the swelling to settle and the final shape of the nose to become apparent. So I would not worry at the moment and allow the healing to take place.All the best.

Thank you for your question. Based on your picture, it looks like you are healing well, but at 1 month post op, it's still very early in your healing process. It can take from 6 months to a year for the swelling to subside. Just be patient and if you have any concerns contact your surgeon.
