Some plastic surgeons perform this procedure. It is quite a valuable tool for facelifts and the results I have seen have been excellent. it’s an excellent option.
There are 2 maxims in facelift surgery: long-lasting results require deep tissue suspension, and deep tissue suspension requires deeper levels of anesthesia and a longer recovery period. Many surgeons use "superglue" type materials to minimize swelling and/or bruising. If your surgeon is doing these things, you should be satisfied with the results of your surgery!Best wishes! The goal of a lower face and neck lift is to tight loose facial and neck skin, tighten loose facial and neck muscles, lift the jowls, and remove the fatty deposits in the neck along with a platysma-plasty. Fibrin glue can be used reduce swelling and bruising when placed/sprayed underneath the skin to allow adhesion and prevent blood and fluid accumulation underneath the skin. The fibrin glue can be used instead of pressure wraps or drains, which can be an advantage. Sutures and tissue glue can be used to close the facelift incisions.
The "super" glue is actually a fist mist of fibrin and this technique has been around for at least 15 years. Some surgeons like to spray this under the skin to prevent fluid and blood accumulation instead of using a surgical drain. The lift is still accomplished with sutures, not glue. This is really just a facelift done in the office under local anesthesia. Nothing new or different about the technique. If done well a facelift should last 10-15 years.
This is another gimmick that is used to lighten your wallet. If a doctor wants to do a super glue facelift on you, Run... don’t walk away.
