I am an over the road truck driver right now, and looking to have a BBL done. I drive for about 9 hours a day and was wondering how soon could I go back to work if I used a BBL pillow under my thighs? Also, how long should I wait before getting pregnant after BBL?
Answer: I am an over the road truck driver right now, and looking to have a BBL done. How soon could I go back to work? Thank you for your question. I recommended you to wait at least 6 weeks to go back to the road.I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: My recommendation Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend at least 1.5 months to drive for really long distances, since sitting for a lot of time can cause some pain for you or change the shape of your buttocks. Remember you're getting a surgery and you should recover first before thinking about going back to work, safety first please! Anyways, consult this with your plastic surgeon, since every doctor has different opinions and protocols. Good luck :) Dr. Luis Mejia.

Answer: I am an over the road truck driver right now, and looking to have a BBL done. How soon could I go back to work? There are no hard and fast rules on when to drive or for what distance after a BBL once you are no longer taking pain medication. Most plastic surgeons would recommend limiting your driving the first 6 to 8 weeks following the BBL. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks. If they have to sit, it is critical that every 30 minutes or an hour that patients get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and you have a very good idea of your final results. Because you have to drive (be sure to use your pillow) long hours each day, it is critical that every 30 minutes or an hour you stop, get out of your vehicle, and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. Driving is much worst than sitting as pushing on the accelerator or brake involves pushing back against the buttocks and lower back. You can certainly get pregnant after a BBL. Pregnancy will alter the results to some extent. You should probably wait at least three months.

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear transformingjess, I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Recovery from BBL Recovery from this procedure is a gradual ongoing process. Plastic surgeons have different protocols in regards to sitting. They vary from unrestricted sitting to limiting sitting for several months. In our practice we ask patients to minimize sitting and rapid movements or access activities for the first three weeks. There’s very little scientific evidence showing that sitting after a BBL has a negative impact. No one has done good studies on this. That doesn’t mean that it’s OK to sit right after having gluteal fat transfer. For the type of work you do I think three weeks is probably a reasonable timeframe. You can get pregnant anytime you would like after the procedure. It takes about six weeks for liposuction and fat transfer results to resemble final results and results will not change significantly after three months. This is usually right around the time when women start having more significant physical changes from pregnancy.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
