I had a full syringe of Juvederm Ultra Plus XC injected and now I see no change and I have lumps (Photo)

Question

I had a full syringe of Juvaderm ultra plus XC a little over a week ago and I see no difference between before and after. They looked amazing then the swelling went down and there was nothing left. I have added photos. Also I have “lumps” below my lip line and I am wondering if this is normal? The lumps are starting to go down, but will it happen again in the future? Should I try to have it done again? Would it be best to try a different product? Any help Is appreciated!

There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

This can be typical after lip fillers. Icing, massage and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Swelling, bruising and lumpiness can occur after lip injections, and 
it can take up to 2 weeks for this to resolve.  Additionally, the amount of filler in a 1mL syringe of Juvederm is equivalent to 1/5 of a teaspoon (5 syringes = 1 teaspoon).  These fillers should not be gone after 1 week.  Follow-up with your injector at 2 weeks to review your treatment plan and evaluate your results.
