Lots of peeling after Juvederm lip filler: I got my lips done on Tuesday and it's now Friday,

Question

I still have some swelling especially in my upper lip and bruising but my lips are peeling excessively everyday. I've been using chap stick and Arnika cream. But decided to not use the cream now in case it's drying out. Is this normal?

Exfoliation and moisturizing will give improvement, but it can take up to 2 weeks for final results with lip fillers. I would wait a full two weeks before assessing your results. If you're unhappy with your result, you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. Hope this helps.

Swelling, even some bruising and peeling can be normal after lip injections and will resolve in 1-2 weeks. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. I recommend injections with cannulas to reduce the risk of bruising. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
