Granuloma after 2 months of TT? (photos)

Question

Had my TT in Agu 17 but by Jan all the swelling was gone and still had flabby skin and belly button was slightly to the left. My PS said that bec my umbilical hernia was so bad he had trouble with the belly button. I got a second TT to fix the bb and rest of skin, but now: 1. My bb hasn’t healed and my dr says it’s normal but Im starting to worry 2 yesterday I saw a bump in lower abs. It doesn’t hurt, move. Is it a granuloma? My PS Is away n texted me to wear the post-op girdle, will this help?

A plastic surgeon can perform a history and physical exam to determine what is causing this problem. Sometimes, there is a buried stitch that has not dissolved and needs to be removed.

Hi marianaomerogThe photos you show are not good enough for me to say for sure.  That said, my best guess is that there is some tissue struggling to survive.  It doesn't look like a granuloma to me, as the granuloma tends to be more of a red and beefy appearance, like ground beef in the setting of non-healing.The area does not look infected.  I would follow doctor's orders and get in to see the doctor at earliest opportunity.  OTOH, if you experience redness, tenderness, swelling, localized heat, drainage, fever, these are signs of infection, seek help immediately.  If you are truly concerned, the doctor should have made arrangements for call coverage, and that doctor should be able to see you timely.All the best.sek
