Turning 33 in February and I'm looking to refresh my face by tweaking a few areas that have always bothered me, chin and cheeks. I've taken the liberty of highlighting my concerns with red arrows. The shadows created where the corners of my mouth meets the chin and the lack of cheekbone in profile are what irk me the most. I know there are plenty of doctors that will fill your cheeks, but are there any doctors who will fill the chin? What fillers are suggested?

Answer: Chin fillers thanks for your question and photos. You have 2 options for chin augmentation fillers or implant. Each have advantages and disadvantages. Same goes for the indentation pre jowl areas. Implants are long term solutions which is nice. See a surgeon who does facial plastic surgery to explore these options further.

Answer: Chin and Jawline Augmentation Thanks for your question. The chin and jawline can definitely be addressed with dermal filler and there are several choices of filler that could be used with equal effect for this. You could benefit from dermal filler placed in the chin region, under the mental crease, small amount in the pre jowl sulcus, and along the jawline itself. You could start with one syringe for the chin specifically, then add one per side to define the jawline if needed. Warning: this is advanced filler technique and should be done with a microcannula. Your most important decision will not be the brand of dermal filler in the syringe, but rather who is standing behind the syringe. Select your injector the way you would select an artist. Don't assume that just because an injector is a specialist in their medical field that they are also a specialist in dermal filler. This is an art and requires lots of experience to execute well. Ideally you should choose an injector with many years experience (injects dermal filler every day, not just as a sideline to their "other" work). Hope that helps. Your face is beautiful, dermal filler serves only to augment your natural beauty. Best, Lisa Vuich, MD
