What is the recommended/ required waiting period ,after Breast Augmentation surgery, to receive the COVID vaccine? Is it safe to get COVID vaccine the same week of a scheduled Breast Augmentation surgery a couple days prior to surgery? Are there any side affects associated with silicone Breast Implants and the COVID vaccine?

Answer: Covid vaccine and BA Hi, thanks for your question. I highly recommend that you speak to your surgeon about this. I wouldn't recommend getting the vaccine a few days prior to your surgery as you want your immune system to be working at 100% for your surgery. You risk having mild symptoms following the vaccine, which is not optimal for surgery. I would also not have the vaccine too soon after surgery for the same reasons. I'd give yourself about a month following your surgery to get the vaccine. Again you should discuss this with your surgeon.

Answer: COVID vaccine before surgery Hi. I think you should discuss this with your surgeon, but my opinion would be that you should not have the vaccine right before the surgery. The vaccine can cause you to have certain reactions, like fever or generalized "not feeling well." You need to be as healthy as possible before an elective surgery, so I think you should either postpone your surgery or the vaccine. Hope that helps.
