BA 15 days ago, cohesive silicone. Dr instructed me to wear compression bra for 30 days post. As the swelling has decreased it appears the constant compression is causing the implant to take on a triangular shape, with a flat outer edge and round inner, as well as pulling the nipples outward. Should I reduce use of the compression bra, or will the implant be able to round out after the 30 days?
Answer: Compression bra after breast augmentation Hi. Although I think it is generally a good idea to wear a compression bra after breast augmentation, yours may be too tight if it significantly misshaping your breast. You can try a bra that is a little less tight... just don't make it so loose that you lose all of the effect of having compression. I also think you should show your PS so he/she can help guide you along the proper path when he/she sees you in person. Best of luck!

Answer: Breasts need time to drop and fluff Surgeon's have different protocols and experience regarding compression dressings. You need to express your questions and concerns with your surgeon. That being said, at 15 days you are about 10 percent settled, shaped, softened, dropped and fluffed. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled and softened at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

Answer: Breast Shape after breast implants The bra may cause some temporary change in your breast shape due to the swelling, but it is unlikely to cause any permanent change. However, make sure the implant is not displaced by the compression bra, because the bra can cause an implant mal-position in the early postoperative period. All surgeons are different, so I would discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Answer: Post-operative swelling changes Hi - thanks for your question. The natural breast tissue over the implant has some post-surgical swelling which will linger and decrease over the next 3-4 months. As the skin stretches to accommodate the new size change, the swelling will also decrease over time. During this time of softening and dropping you may notice the rounder shape. Your Plastic surgeon may have a specific goal with the breast garment so it's always best to discuss this early together. Each Surgeon develops a sense of how their operations turn out over time and you may find that you will feel more reassured with this discussion.
