Axillary lipo - sweat/smell. Is this normal?

I had my bra rolls lipoed about a wk ago. Along with a lift and BA. I am 22 years old and my I've had an issue with armpit smell for a few years now. Even right after scrubbing them with antibacterial soap, they still smell! After lipo, I noticed they have been sweating a ton and it stinks. I plan on talking with my surgeon, but is this normal? Will it go away? I even used clinical strength deodorant and it's still bad. Does lipo generally help with underarm odor? What can I do to help he smell?

No, liposuction won't change the smell of your sweat. I recommend following up with your Doctor to go over your concerns and possible treatment options. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Hi agoldbergyou have what sounds like hyperhidrosis (too much sweating) with associated odor.  I haven't heard of this being worsened with surgery before, however I think it is entirely likely that the liposuction bruised some nerves in the skin and they are responding by firing more than usual.  This is causing more sweating.  This likely will resolve by itself in several weeks.In the mean time, there are some medical grade antiperspirants (not deodorants) that may help you.  In the longer term, botox to the area every 3 to 6 months is very effective.Hope this helps.sek
