Do 25cc make a difference in size?

A small change in CC's may not be drastic enough to notice a significant size increase. Depending on the reason for the breast revision determines the sizing outcome. However, there are no guarantees with size predictions for revisions. Initially, if a woman wears a size 36 AB bra and would like to be a C cup, which is the average size that women wear and the average size bra that is sold, she needs a volume of approximately 350 to 390 cc to make that change. This becomes less if she's wearing a 34 bra, because it has a smaller strap size and the cups have a smaller diameter. A smaller diameter implant would then be a volume of approximately 300 to 350 cc. In the same way if she was more petite, maybe a double zero or size one and wore a 32 AB bra, then to become a 32C cup she would only require about 250 to 300 cc. This is a general number, and of course there are other factors that will affect this. 

Other factors which contribute to the outcome are #size, #shape, and #profile.  The #profile is determined by the amount of #projection versus roundness that the you desire, as well as the #size of the implant and size of your chest. Also, the placement or incision location will also have an effect on profile. Another element to a satisfying result of your #augmentation is realistic #expectations.#Shaped implants are all #textured and should not rotate when used properly. In my practice, about 20% of the patients benefit from shaped implants. Your Plastic Surgeon needs to measure you and determine the best shape and size of any implants that are used.

Usually we recommend that if patients do want to see a size difference, a change of at least 100 cc's is recommended. Since you are only going to have a 25 cc difference it should make little difference. The change of implant profile should help create a more natural appearance.Assuming you are going with Natrelle Inspira implants, the term the manufacturer uses is "full" rather than "moderate plus," with the highest profile called "extra full."

thank you for your question. Generally speaking at 25 mL difference in implant size does not translate into a significant change in the overall outcome of your breast augmentation. Given the many different profiles of implants available 25 mL is not a big amount of silicone to make a significant difference in the overall outcome. Good luck 

Generally speaking, a 25 cc difference does not make a noticeable difference for most patients. However, in your case, your plastic surgeon is also recommending a different profile breast implant as well.  Best to clarify your plastic surgeon's recommendations directly with him;  it will be important that you and he both be on the same page (careful communication of goals) prior to proceeding.  Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

It sounds as though you have a significant capsular contracture for which you have the upcoming surgery planned to correct. It also sounds like you have found a good plastic surgeon who understands how to deal with the problem and meet your desires. The base width of the implant is very important, so trust him/her on that. Also, switching from above to below the muscle requires a larger implant to achieve the same size, so, yes, that 25cc does make a difference in achieving your goal of staying the same size. You should not change sizes with what is proposed.
