I got buccal fat removal and I regret it. I have been exploring the option with surgeons to get fat injected back to buccal space versus a superficial fat graft. Does the likelihood of developing problematic necrosis increase when you inject back to buccal space (though the inner corner of mouth) versus a superficial fat graft? My understanding is that you are breaking through inner mucus which bacteria can infiltrate. How can I reduce my chances of getting necrosis that can cause deformity?

Thank you for submitting your question and photos. You may benefit from a buccal fat pad removal in the cheek region to balance the proportions of the face. Removal of this fat pad can reduce fullness in the face to create a more defined contour in the cheekbone area and along the jawline....
Bichectomy is a procedure where excess cheek volume is removed. Therefore, facial roundness reduces, and cheekbones become more prominent. Buccal fat removal is a permanent solution and once the fat is removed it will not come back. Best wishes.
