Help I’ve had this lump on my back ever since my first liposuction procedure back in 2016. I thought I could get it fixed by another doctor in 2017 but it just came out with the same result I cannot continue with my back looking this is there any way for this to be fixed? It’s really ruining my confidence. I can’t wear anything with my back out bc of how it looks please help.
Answer: How do I get rid of my fibrosis? Thank you for your question and photo. From this limited view photo there's a roll of tissue, fibrosed or scarred, and excess fat on your upper lateral back and maybe lower as well. The problem is that both your doctor and you are focused on one small area where the problem is. One cannot improve this area without a wide release, most likely circumferentially and VASER liposuction, since you already had two unsuccessful outcomes. This limited photo is not enough to make a full recommendation, but I suspect you will need to have VASER liposuction 360 degrees to solve this issue. The skin needs to be released widely to allow it to contract and redistribute evenly. Another local "correction" will lead to another failed result. This is a difficult problem and a cheap solution will fail. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

Answer: Managing poor Liposuction results Delivering consistent quality, liposuction, results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons have truly mastered this procedure are in a small minority. Being board-certified and plastic surgery with years of experience, and an overall good reputation does not mean somebody has mastered any one single procedure especially not Liposuction. Correcting poorly done, Liposuction is difficult and often not possible. The chance for improvement depends on the number of variables, including the patient’s candidacy for Liposuction in the first place, how aggressive the previous procedures were, and how uneven the fat layer was left. Treatment options typically come down to Revision Liposuction, (removing more fat) fat transfer, or a combination of both. Sometimes converting the procedure to a skin tightening operation like a tummy tuck. If the problem is on the lower abdomen may be a reasonable approach. To make a quality assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we always need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures, then ask your previous two surgeons to forward the pictures they took. Anybody who tells you that correcting poorly done Liposuction is easy is probably not the right provider. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of provider selection when it comes to Liposuction. Doing this procedure. Well, it’s far more difficult than most people recognize.Defined the right provider whether it’s for Primary Liposuction or Revision Work I suggest patients start the process by having multiple in person, consultations with plastic surgeons, who seem to do a lot of liposuction work. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who have similar body characteristics to your own. An experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Highly experienced surgeons should in fact have hundreds or thousands of before and after pictures to choose from. Being shown a handful of preselected images, representing the best results of a providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. Revision work is many times more difficult than primary liposuction, and it is also not nearly as common. Your situation is complex and definitely requires in person consultations to get a good assessment. Please get proper before and after pictures and copies of your previous operative reports if you don’t have them already. You can get them by asking your previous providers to forward them to you. your pictures are limited and we can’t make a good assessment whether there’s room for improvement or if you were a candidate for liposuction in the first place.
