Is making nose wider possible with revision rhinoplasty?

I had a rhinoplasty 10 months ago and i am devastated. my bridge and tip are very thin and I feel like I lost facial harmony, my breathing is also a problem when it never was before and my nose makes a snorting noise when i inhale with slight force. Can a nose be rewidened to improve breathing and to help harmony ?

When someone has the complaint that the nose is too narrow, we look to see what else might not be right about the nose, because correcting those other things my partially or completely correct the narrowness at the same time. Photos, as you can imagine, would be critical in making an assessment. I looked at the photo you posted previously, and I don't think it was a saddle nose -- rather, the tip was just too prominent compared to the position of the bridge just above the tip. That suggests that the correction of that area in particular would reside in changing the position of the tip instead of building up the bridge. We hate building up bridges, because there are so many things that can go wrong with it.

Hello, Yes, these changes can be made, and are actually not uncommon for revision rhinoplasty. Without photos it is hard to tell, but it sounds like you are describing something that we tend to see with what I refer to as the "generic rhinoplasty". Quick reductions of the bridge and tip in the generic fashion focus on cartilage reduction, without adequate re-stabilization. This not only leads to certain classic "fake rhinoplasty" results, but also functional issues. Again, without doing a formal evaluation with photos and video, or in person, it is hard to tell the exact issue. For revision rhinoplasty, make sure to find a well qualified rhinoplasty surgeon with expertise in revisions. Do several consults to collect opinions and compare their assessments, as well as overall demeanor toward the nose. Good luck!

Much more information is needed, such as a full set of facial photographs from all angles, and a copy of the operative report to find out what was accomplished in the first procedure. It's also important to know if there's any cartilage left over on the inside of your nose for grafting purposes.
