What you are describing sound like inflamed areas of localized infection that swell, become sore and swollen (the "golf ball"), and then heal after draining.These are usually localized areas of infection from bacteria introduced at the time of fat grafting. Antibiotic therapy is often used and only successful some of the time, so drainage is still the key, though I would actually do both if you were under my care. Without seeing you in person it is difficult to say whether or not the two are related. Most of the time these develop form in grown hairs or from small infections on the skin that start out as pimples and progress.
