Pimple recipient area (2.5 months post-op FUE): popped out with 3 grafts

Question

Good afternoon. I recently squeezed out a pimple on my recepient area. I've been gently but firm, using my fingertips (not nails). I cleaned out right after with disinfectant. However, I noted that there were three hair shafts (probably original transplanted hair, since they were pretty thick) among the residual of the pimples (pus and blood). Did I damaged the follicle, precluding a future growth, or it will be just fine (new hair will re-grow since the follicles are ok)? Thank you in advance!

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.  It would be unlikely you "popped" out a graft after 3 months.

This time frame post op is approximately the time that hair begins to grow from a transplant. More than likely, the new hair may be pushing the old hairs out and they became trapped and inflamed. This is what caused the pimple. Popping the pimple just caused a release of the tension. There should NOT be any problems related to growth from popping the pimple.

Pimples or ingrown hairs can affect the final results of a hair transplant. If you experience any pimples or irritation it is important to ask your hair transplant doctor for treatment.

If you developed pimples that spontaneously drained and with the drainage were hair follicles, it was just retained hair follicles and often not a concern. If there are many pimples, see your surgeon
