2 weeks post op eMatrix treatment, my skin doesn't peel off/renew itself. Is this normal?

eMatrix using fractionated radio-frequency to improve the skin.  Typically there is no skin peeling because there is minimal epidermal skin damage.  The treatment is referred to as "sublative".

The advantages of eMatrix is that it spares the superficial most layers of the skin, the epidermis, and targets the dermis. This is called sublative technology. eMatric uses sublative RF technology to treat more superficial dermal scars than 'deeper' dermal scars from acne. These include rolling and boxed scars as well as icepick scars. 

eMatrix is sublative - a word that means only the upper layers of your skin is partially ablated or removed. This should only give you pin point areas of partial healing - this resolves  within -8 days, depending on the treatment level. I think, if I am not mistaken the US has a max of 80mj per pin (or even lower), in Australia we are using 90-100 mj in key areas. RF is not meant to treat the upper layers of  the skin- in fact the converse is what it is designed to do, namely treat the dermal or deeper layers of the skin, preserving the UPPER layers.Hope this helps, regardsDr Davin Lim Laser DermatologistBrisbane, Australia

The skin should not be peeling off after eMatrix. When the pin points go into the skin, new collagen is formed into those areas which helps resurface the skin and improve it. It does not peel the skin off. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and
