There are many different variations for post treatment care. In our office, we advise patients to begin Vitamin C, and afterwards to apply Domeboro and healing creams to expedite recovery. Raffy Karamanoukian MD FACS
Wash your face with a mild and gentle cleanser daily after the eMatrix procedure. A steroid cream is also applied starting day 1 and ending on day 3 along with a bacteriostatic ointment. Following this, revert to an inert moisturizing ointment or cream to be applied daily. Best regards and bona fortuna.
After having your Ematrix treatment it is important to keep skin clean. Although there are no open lesions, there was trauma to the surface of the skin and it is best to gently cleanse and moisturize regularly. You will want the skin to heal from the laser in the most healthy and safe way possible to ensure best results.
Every Specialist will have their own regime, I am only sharing you my way of doing things-1. Steroid applied once off by our staff, mixed with antibacterial ointment2. Wash face twice a day with cetaphil. Stay out of sun for 2 weeks.3. Moisturise with bland moisturiser 2-3 times a day till the grids go.. usually by day 3-5All the BestDr Davin Lim
I tell people to wash their faces with a sensitive skin cleanser and not exfoliate or rub the skin harshly, after eMatrix. I have no idea why an office would tell you not to wash your face after this procedure. But you do need to be gentle. If you want to know why they recommended this for you, I would recommend you call and ask! Because I've done the treatment for over 5 years and have no idea why they'd tell you this. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion. Seek in-person treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriate care."
This can happen with eMatrix especially if you have sensitive or dry skin, or if the treatment level is very high. Easy to fix- exclude infection, swabs if needed, and moderate potents CS ointment for 2 days under occlusion. Your treating doctor can prescribe. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim
In my practice, I have found the Ematrix to be outstanding in the treatment of atrophic acne scars on the face and neck. We usually recommend a series of Ematrix treatments for optimal effect. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
The timing of the anesthetic cream depends on the particular type of cream that is used. Typical is approximately 20 minutes or longer.
