At size 36 each 200 cc's of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change. You would go up 2 cup sizes from a DD to a DDDD, which is a G. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Thank you for your question. If you ask this question to 10 different plastic surgeons, you may get as many as 10 different answers. There is no "standard" conversion for implant cc's to a cup size, especially in an already relatively large breast. It is best to have a discussion with a board certified plastic surgeon who can listen to your goals and help you achieve them with an implant appropriate for you. Many of my patients become fixated on how many cc's their implant will be compared to their best friend or neighbor. It is best to have this be an individual assessment, depending on your ultimate goal and look. Good luck.
Cup size can vary with different brands as well as size of the rib cage. I have found that the best analogy for bra cup size is dress size. I often explain it to patients that the same way there is no standard for dress size (for example "what does a size 2 in dress size really mean?") there is no standard for cup size. The same person could be a DD in one brand of bra and a C in a different brand. The most important thing to go over with your plastic surgeon is what shape are you looking for, do want it to look "natural" or not. Also one way to get an idea of what size implants to use would be to try on a few different sizes in a specially designed sizing bra and see how you look in clothing. Another way would be to test what volume to use would be to put a 100cc of rice in a small "Ziploc" bag and place as many as you of them in your bra as you need and then see what it looks like. This is a very effective way to get an idea of what size implant to use. All of this should be done with the guidance of your plastic surgeon. I hope this helps. You can also see the link below for a number of before and after photos which may help you get a more perspective on what you may want.
This would most likely give you very large breasts! However, it's hard to say without examining you. If I saw you as a patient, I would give you 425cc implants to place into your bra to give you an idea of how you'd look after the procedure. Good luck! Dr. Schreiber, Baltimore plastic surgeon
In order to make an accurate size recommendation, I would need to assess your chest wall and breast mound measurements and characteristics. Unfortunately, there is not a general rule of thumb or objective criteria to implant selection. Your plastic surgeon will perform several measurements of your chest wall and breast anatomy and determine a range of implants that both fit your chest wall and reach your desired goals. The next step is to try on this range of implants in the office with your doctor. The key to this success is showing your surgeon the body proportion you desire with a bra sizer and allowing your surgeon to guide you to the right implant. It will be much easier to communicate in implant cc's than cup size when determining the appropriate implant for you. I wish you a safe recovery and fantastic result. Dr. Gill
This is pretty straight forward. Your end size is dependent upon what you are starting with. Nobody can hang their hat on an exact size for you but if you are truly a DD then I would expect that size implant to take you at least 2 more cup sizes up. This is such an imperfect question however because a direct physical exam would really help me better advise you.
Thanks for your question. "What cup size will I be after breast augmentation?" is the question that every patient and the question, that, unfortunately, the answer is "it's hard to say". Different bra manufacturers "size" breasts differently - some women who are a "B" cup with one brand will find they are a "C" cup with another brand. I find one of the most useful things is to have a patient wear a bra with a sizer inside it of the same volume as the proposed implant. This allows to the patient to see what that volume increase will look like on them. From there, we can both hazard a rough guess about what cup size that would represent, but I stress that no guarantees can be made. I hope this helps.
Hello There is no standard formula to identify what cup size you will be after an augmentation. It would be impossible to tell how much of a cup you will fill and this is only something you will find out after you have had your surgery. Regards Stephen Salerno
Cup sizes are notoriously inaccurate. Each bra fits differently than the next based on individual manufacturers. So it's hard to compare cc to cup sizes. In my office we have a sizing system which helps my patients to decide on the look they desire. While the sizing system is not 100%, it does give my patients some idea of what they would look like post augmentation.
There is no standard increase in breast cup size achieved with the use of specific size breast implants. Therefore, best to base your communication with your plastic surgeon on achieving a specific outcome, as opposed to achieving a specific cup size. Also, as you know, cup sizes will vary from one bra manufacturer to another. In my practice, I find the use of goal pictures helpful during the very important communication process. I hope this, and the attached link, helps.
