Will my implants look bigger when they start to drop and fluff? (Photo)

I appreciate your question.

Right now, you are very early on in the
post op recovery period. It will take 3-6 months for you to feel comfortable
having implants in your body and for them to settle. This time allows for you
to physically and psychologically adapt to your new body image. There are many
variables that contribute to a breast augmentation's final result. Preop size
and shape, IMF location, location of the implants and type of implant. Patients
heal at different rates and each breast will sometimes heal at a different
rate. You will not lose any
volume but the way your implant sits on your chest wall will change, and can
result in different ‘fills’ to your bra.  Rest, relax, recover and heal. Please Express your concerns to your surgeon so
he/she can examine you at this time. Then reassess final result at 6 months.

The best way to assess and give true
advice would be an in-person exam.

At 4-6 weeks the skin envelope will stretch and the implants will project more and look more natural.  You can start gentle massage of the implant at this point to help the process along if ok with your surgeon. 

Thanks for the question. Its early to talk about final results.In my practice, after performing a BA I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. Your shape will change as time passes after surgery.  The muscles tend to hold the implants high for a few weeks and then they will look more natural and fuller on the bottom.  This usually takes a few months 

Good question.  I tell my patients that implant position and shape will change during the first 3-4 months postop. During this time, the implants will drop into position and round out and "fluff". Breast volume will not change significantly during this period. However, they will lose some cleavage as the implants drop into position. I would be patient and wait until they fully settle until you make a decision. I hope that this helps.

At such a short period after surgery, your implants are not settled and will look different as they descend into the pocket.

You are going through a very common post-op problem called "buyers remorse" where you are second guessing the choices you may have made. Breast augmentation is a big deal and I am sure you have invested a lot of time and money into it. You are only one week post op and it is entirely too early to make any judgements about size. Your breasts will not look bigger but they will definitely look different as the swelling goes down in the next several weeks and months. It doesn't look to me like your body would have accommodated much larger implants, but of course I can't tell that from just a photo. Your breasts look nice and even and the swelling looks pretty normal. I encourage you to sit tight and wait for your body to heal.

Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure.
You should be aware that a significant percentage of patients at your stage of recovery will feel that they are too big or (more commonly) too small. I routinely ask my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation surgery. This waiting time allows patients to (usually) physically and psychologically adapt to the new body image.  In my opinion, the "drop and fluff” phenomenon does hold some validity; as breast implants “settle”, many patients feel that their breasts actually look larger. You may also be happier once the swelling AROUND the breast implants dissipates and the implants' shape and projection become more visible. Best wishes.
