Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid, which is what dissolves the fat, removing it from the submental area and jowls permanently. Diluting it with saline would make it less effective and raises the risk of bruising. As others have mentioned, some dermatologists add a bit of lidocaine to make the procedure more comfortable, but not enough to dilute the power of the acid. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who can show you good results from prior patients treated with Kybella and who does not dilute the formula.
Thank you for your question. Kybella has been approved by the FDA to safely reduce excess fat below the chin. Kybella is made from the naturally occurring substance deoxycholic acid, a chemical used by the body to rid unwanted fat. As the deoxycholic acid destroys the fat cells, the unwanted fat can the be safely reduced by the body. Always consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. It is important that you are working with an experienced injector.Best wishes,
I don't know of any advantage to mixing Kybella. This will lessen the strength of Kybella and will make it less efficacious. Best of luck!
Kybella is made to be injected as is which means that it should not be diluted. It will lessen the efficacy. I would suggest that you see another injector, preferably a board certified plastic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist.
Kybella is injected as is- meaning not diluted. It comes as a liquid in the vial and does not need dilution of any sort.
Kybella is FDA approved and fabulous at decreasing the fat under the chin. However, it need to be injected from the manufacturer without dilution. I would definitely not inject Kybella that is diluted. Please consult an expert in Kybela for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
That's a great question. I agree with all the answers so far but would like to add one more thought. There are physicians who are adding a very small amount of lidocaine to each vial, on the order of 0.02ml per vial, to make the procedure more comfortable. This amount is so small that it really doesn't change the amount of kybella that is being injected by more then the smallest increment and so the efficacy of the drug remains intact and patients are getting the same great results. Nothing else should be added to the vial of kybella or the syringe that kybella is drawn into. Please make sure to ask your provider what they are adding to the syringe. I hope this is helpful to you.
This is a great question. It is not recommended nor FDA approved to dilute Kybella with a saline solution. In fact the pharmaceutical manufacturer specifically instructs that 2 full vials should be used for each treatment to ensure results. I am so glad that you are getting informed to make the best decision for your skin needs!
Hello ihateusernames,Thank you for sharing your question with us. Kybella comes in small vials that are already of the appropriate amount and concentration for its intended treatment to "dissolve" fat. Diluting it with saline would only make it less potent and thus less effective. I am unaware of any trainer or information from Allergon that suggests this as proper practice. Hope this helps.
I agree with the answers thus far....Kybella is formulated at the concentrations studied for maximum effect. There is no need to mix saline with Kybelle and doing so could effect the efficacy of the product. Make sure you go to a reputable physician for your injections.Best of luck!
Swelling is a very normal side effect of Kybella. However, treatments should be spaced at least 4-6 weeks apart. Not two weeks. You need to give your body time to heal. And most patients only need 2-4 treatments.
I tell all my patients that bruising is NOT a side effect, but an expected outcome- hence when I perform Belkyra injections, I always have patients come back at 48 hours to have V BEAM laser or pulse dye laser performed. Laser shortens the bruising from one week to 3-4 days. Bruising, sw...
Kybella is a great FDA approved injection for submental fullness. The problem with treating with the jowls is that full studies have not been determined and you run the risk of the unknown. We use a great deal of Thermage for this area to tighten the jowls and help with skin tightening as w...
