8 weeks post liposuction and nauseous everyday. Could this be related?

If you are no longer taking pain medication and staying hydrated, I recommend that your phone your PS's office for guidance if these conditions persist.If you do not have an appetite for solid food, try drinking protein shakes that come in a variety of flavors. I am sorry to hear you are experiencing nausea everyday after surgery.  Medications are usually the cause for patients to experience nausea.  If you are not taking any prescriptions then you should consult with your primary care physician and have some testing done.  Good luck.

If you are still taking pain medications, this could be causing the nausea. Otherwise, the nausea would not be related to the liposuction and you should contact your primary care provider for evaluation and treatment.

The most common reason people get nauseous after surgery is it from taking narcotic pain medications. It's highly unlikely you're still taking prescription narcotic pain medication but if you are then you should consider stopping these.  Some people have extreme nausea and vomiting after general anesthesia but this typically resolves within 24 hours.  some people are predisposed to getting nauseous easily. For example some women are nauseous almost every day during pregnancy, get seasick or carsick easily and puke when given narcotic pain medication.  Typically Women are more prone to nausea than men.  Are you still taking any medication prescribed for the surgery?  Go through what's different now than before.  Consider discussing this with your provider or even your primary care physician.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
