Wearing a compression band 3 months after surgery?

...those bands are primitive devices used in the glorious beginning of breast augmentation in the 70s and 80s, when the surgeons had a very limited understanding of the healing process and capsular formation for breast implants. Nowadays these bands are just useless torture devices which will never stop a breast implant from moving upwards in case it experiences a serious capsular contracture.

Thank you for your question.  In general, the textured tear drop implants do not "drop" as much as smooth implants and they are a bit harder to manipulate than smooth implants.  Wearing a band that far out is unlikely to make a big difference, but always best to follow the directions of your surgeon.  If you have questions regarding their management, always best to ask them in person.  Best wishes.

Thanks for your inquiry, but without some good pictures it is difficult to tell you if your implants are moving as planned.  Tear drop implants are textured and their position is harder to influence with massage or a bandeau

Smooth implants settle much easier than do textured implants.  Textured implants generally remain in the position where they were placed at the time of the original insertion.You may wish  to consult with your Plastic Surgeon regarding your options in the future. 

I will occasionally use a band after implant surgeries to encourage implants to 'drop', but this is after implanting smooth implants. Textured implants do not drop for the most part. They do soften and 'settle' a bit over time and a band may help this somewhat but do not expect dramatic lowering of the implants. Discuss this with your surgeon. Best of luck.Dr K
