I had 350cc overs 8 days ago. I had 32aa size pre op. My implants are very high and skin tight and shiny. I noticed yesterday how far my skin has stretched from my sternum, and have became increasingly worried about the possibility of symmastia after googling my symptoms (bad thing to do if you're a worrier I know!) What do you think? I've tried to take photos as best as I can. I noticed some yellow bruising in the sternum area which makes me wonder if he's done something. Thanks Worried :(

Answer: Symmastia? Thank you for your question and photos. Only 8 days out from surgery, there will still be a significant amount of tissue swelling. Symmastia is when the implants physically touch at the center because of over dissection of the implant pocket. You do not appear to have symmastia. Let things settle and let the swelling go down and this can then be adequately evaluated by your surgeon. Best of luck.

Answer: Is this swelling or symmastia/tenting? Although your concerns are understandable, the majority of patients who have your appearance 8 days after breast augmentation surgery do not have symmastia ( medial breast implant malposition). Usually, this appearance is related to swelling, which is quite normal/temporary. Of course, your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource for accurate information and/or reassurance. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with long-term.
